IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert in these states for next 4 days

Isolated heavy rain is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the first half of the week.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate rain with thunder and lightning over northwest and central India in the coming week. IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert in these states for next 4 days.

Isolated heavy rain is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the first half of the week. Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness heavy rains throughout the week.

Additionally, isolated heavy rain is expected over Jammu division on 5th, Himachal Pradesh on 5th, Uttarakhand from 5th to 7th, Punjab on 5th and Uttar Pradesh on 5th and 6th. The IMD has forecast very high isolated rainfall over several regions on specific dates in early July. Heavy rains are expected in Bihar on July 5, while sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive heavy rains from July 6.

On July 6, heavy rain is expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, followed by Assam and Meghalaya on July 6 and 7 and Odisha on July 7. Particularly severe conditions are expected over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya, where isolated very heavy rains are forecast on July 5.

Besides, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected over Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, and Gujarat states, the IMD has forecast. “Fairly widespread light to moderate rain is likely over central Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and scattered over interior Karnataka.

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Rayalaseema and Telangana are expected to receive moderate rain with scattered light during this period, the IMD said. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana on 7th and 8th, Coastal Karnataka on 8th and South Interior Karnataka on 5th and 8th July.

Besides, isolated heavy rain is likely over Konkan and Goa from 4th to 6th, Madhya Maharashtra from 4th to 8th, Saurashtra and Kutch from 4th, Coastal Karnataka from 4th to 7th and South Interior from 4th to 7th. July 4, 6 and 7.
