Earlier Dussehra holiday was one month, now it has been reduced to only 15 days. Teachers argue that it is not right to cut Dussehra vacation for schools. Now the school starts on the day after the Dussehra festival and the children are under pressure. Therefore, Karnataka Government Rural Primary School Teachers’ Association have written to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister to extend the Dussehra vacation till October 30.
Last year, the education department had verbally informed the teachers’ union about the extension of leave, but this year the leave period has not been extended. There is also an allegation that teachers’ leave has been curtailed. For the same reason, They met former CM Jagdish Shettar and appealed to him.

The teachers union has already requested the chief minister and the education minister about the extension of leave. School will start on 25th, but the children will not be able to celebrate the festival, according to the teachers union.
