Karnataka: No school opening in districts with high positivity rate: Basavaraj Bommai

Bengaluru: The state government has decided not to start schools in districts where coronavirus infection is high. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said schools would start from August 23 in districts with less than 2%.

The chief ministers and education ministers have announced the opening of school colleges in the state from August 23. However, the incidence of coronavirus infection is increasing in the border districts. Against this backdrop, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai held a meeting with officials, experts and ministers. Speaking after the meeting, he said schools cannot be started in districts where coronavirus infection is high.

Schools are being set up in districts where the positivity rate for coronavirus infection is less than 2 per cent and schools must be vaccinated with instructors and non-teaching staff. Once the coronavirus infection rate has increased by more than 2 per cent, it has been suggested to restart the schools after a week.
