District Collector Dr. Rajendra KV has issued an order declaring holiday for all schools and colleges from Anganwadi to Degree College. Further, due to heavy rains in Dakshina Kannada district and Ghatta area, Kumaradhara Bathing Ghat of Kukke Subrahmanya of Kadaba Taluk of the district has been inundated.

Heavy water is flowing from the Ghat area and there has been an increase in the water flow of the Kumaradhara River. In this background, devotees have been instructed not to enter the water at the bathing area. A spell of heavy rainfall on Sunday, July 3, left several parts of Karnataka’s Chikkamnagaluru district inundated.

The heavy rainfall over the weekend has resulted in water bodies overflowing and this has caused waterlogging in areas. The Bhadra river’s catchments in Chikkamangaluru district are also overflowing due to the incessant rains on Saturday and Sunday.

Heavy rain also continued in the Udupi district today, it is difficult for students to come to class. Holiday declared for schools and colleges in the wake of heavy rainfall. Udupi Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate Kurma Rao M declared holiday for districts Anganwadi, Primary, high schools, Pre-university colleges and Colleges.
