Karnataka Election Duty: Primary School Teachers demand for exemption

The Primary School Teachers Association has appealed to the Election Commission to exempt teachers above 55 years of age, pregnant teachers and disabled teachers while deputing them for Karnataka Election Duty. Karnataka Election Duty: Primary School Teachers demand for exemption.

A letter has been written to the State Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Meena in this regard. Teachers above 55 years should be exempted from election duty. Especially women teachers should be deputed for election duty in the constituency/taluk where they are performing duty.

It has demanded that teachers suffering from serious diseases, pregnant teachers, teachers with young children, teachers with disabled/specially handicapped children should be exempted from election duty.

It has been requested that suitable vehicles should be arranged for the teachers assigned on election duty to go to their places at night after the completion of the election work.

Association President Shambulingana Gowda Patil and General Secretary Chandrasekhara Nuggali have requested to direct the District Election Officers to consider the above factors while deputing teachers for election duty.

The Karnataka Assembly election 2023 is scheduled to be held on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13, said the Election Commission of India on Wednesday. The election will be held for all 224 assembly constituencies. The election Model Code of conduct will be implemented from today (March 29).
