Confusion continues regarding the conduct of board exams for classes 5, 8 and 9 of government, aided and unaided schools of the state curriculum. Confusion continues over whether the exam will be cancelled or held, leaving children and parents in full confusion and tension.

The High Court has reserved its verdict after completing the trial of the case. Regarding the appeal filed by the state government, the bench heard arguments and counter arguments and completed the hearing and ordered to reserve judgment.

The Division Bench after hearing the appeal filed challenging the order of the High Court single member bench quashing the two circulars issued for conducting board level evaluation examination for classes 5, 8 and 9 has reserved the final verdict.

Earlier, the single-member bench, which had awarded the dispute petition filed challenging the board examination, had cancelled two separate circulars of the government and ordered on March 6, 2024. Challenging this order, the state government filed an appeal in the Divisional Bench of the High Court on March 7.

The order of the single-member bench hearing the appeal was stayed. The original petitioners, Association of Governing Boards of Registered Unaided Private Schools and Association of Recognized Unaided Schools, had filed a special appeal in the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court stayed the order of the division bench. The High Court was instructed to conduct an expeditious hearing of the case and give a verdict, accordingly the Divisional Bench conducted the hearing and reserved the verdict. Due to this, confusion continues among parents and children.
