Kannada Sahitya Parishad President Nadoja Mahesh Joshi met Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday and officially invited him to attend the inauguration of the 86th All India Kannada Literature Conference to be held in Haveri for three days from January 6. Kannada Sahitya Sammelana: 2 days holiday declared for PUC students.
Accepting the invitation, CM said that the 86th All India Kannada Literary Conference being held in Haveri should be a festival of Kannada and Kannada identity. He called upon all Kannadigas of the country to raise the profile of the conference by participating in the Akshara Jatre.
The Kannada Language Comprehensive Development Bill-2022 has been presented in this winter session, but there has been no opportunity for discussion on this bill at the expected level. Therefore, as per the demand of the council, an ordinance will be issued for the implementation of this bill, he said.
President of Kannada Sahitya Parishad Nadoja Mahesh Joshi said that all Kannadigas of the country should come to the Akshara Jatra held in Haveri. Accordingly, senior literati, writers, activists, organizers, folk and cultural luminaries, politicians, people’s representatives and all society leaders are respectfully invited on behalf of the council. He informed that necessary preparations are being made for the conference.
2 days haveri students holiday declared for Pre-University college students of Haveri town on the occasion of the Kannada Sahitya Sammelana to be held in the district. Holiday declared for PU Colleges. The 86th Kannada Sahitya Sammelna will be held in Haveri on January 6, 7 and 8.

Thus, Education Department has issued an order for five PU College in Haveri on January 6 and 7. Holiday granted for Government Pre-Graduate College Haveri, Gudleppa Hallikeri Pre-Graduate College, Government Pre-Graduation College for Girls, SJM Pre-Graduate College, SMS Pre-Graduate College.
