Dasara Holiday Extend Till October 31: Teachers Union letter to CM Siddaramaiah

Vijayadashami is celebrated on October 24 and the education department has ordered to start school on the next day of festival October 25. Teachers expressed concern that doing this would increase the pressure on the students.

Dasara Holiday Extend: Karnataka education department announced Dasara holiday for 15 days this time it is now unsatisfied for school teachers in state. Teachers union has written letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Education Minister regarding Dasara holiday extend.

All schools in the entire state are on holiday, Children are enjoying the holiday. But the teachers are busy to written letter to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister to extend the Dasara holiday till October 30.

School starts the day after the festival:

The education department has shortened the Dussehra holiday this year also. Vacation was cut during Corona pandamic. But it still hasn’t been fixed. Earlier Dasara holiday was one month, now it has reduced to only 15 days.

The school starts the next day after the Dasara festival and it becomes stressful for the children. For that reason, teachers of Karnataka government Rural Primary School Teachers’ Association have written a letter to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister to extend the Dasara holiday till October 30.

Last year, the education department had verbally informed the teachers union about the extension of the leave, but this year leave period has not been extended. Apart from this, there is also an allegation that teachers leave has been curtailed. For this reason, teachers union met former CM Jagdish Shettar and requested him to extend the leave.

For that reason, the teachers’ union has appealed to the Chief Minister and the Education Minister to extend the holidays. Teachers union also appealed to Jagdish Shettar that the festival was held on 24th and the school started on 25th so the children will be under pressure and the festival will not be celebrated. And they also said that other department employees get 30 days holidays, but teachers only get 10 earned days holiday. The teachers union expressed their outrage.
