Gruha Lakshmi Scheme for transgender: Important decision by government

Many decisions were taken today in the Karnataka State Cabinet meeting. Importantly, the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is already being given to every householder in the state. Now the scheme has been extended to the gender minorities.

Gruha Lakshmi Scheme: The Karnataka government has already implemented the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. Two installments have been deposited in the housewives’ account. Now the state government has taken an important decision to extend the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme to transgender.

Many decisions were taken today in the Karnataka State Cabinet meeting. Importantly, the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is already being given to every householder in the state. Now the scheme has been extended to the gender minorities and the cabinet meeting has approved to give Rs 2000 per month. Many schemes have already been implemented in Karnataka for gender minorities in the state.

The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, implemented by the Congress government, used to transfer money directly to the owner’s account of each family. So far only women are benefiting from this scheme. Due to the new announcement of the Karnataka state government, henceforth the gender minorities will also get the benefit of the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme.

The state government will issue a separate guideline in this regard and soon transgender will be included in this scheme. Gruha Lakshmi Scheme was implemented in Karnataka state in the month of August. The first installment was transferred last September. Now in the month of October, the second installment of money has been given on the eve of Dussehra. The housewives are very happy because of this.

The government has now given another opportunity to those who have applied for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme and have not yet received the funds in their accounts. It has been instructed to amend the ration card and re-register their name for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. The government responded to the demand of transgender.

After the implementation of the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme through the Congress Guarantee Yojana, the demand was made that transgender should also be considered for this scheme. Now the state government has responded to the demand of transgender.

There are 3 to 4 Lakhs of transgender in the state of Karnataka. There are 41,312 voters in this constituency. But the names of many transgender are not in the voter list. Padma Shri Manjamma Jogati said that we are living like women. Why do you do politics only when you are giving a government scheme.

They also demanded that the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, Shakti Yojana should be implemented. Now the government has given in to the demand of transgender.
