Engineering women quit job and join boyfriend ganja business: arrested

Bengaluru: A 25-year-old woman was held on charges of drug peddling in Sadashivanagar. According to Reports the woman had quit her engineering job in Chennai in a bid to make easy money with her boyfriend and his accomplice by engaging in the ganja business.

The accused, identified as Renuka R alias Adhya and Sudhanshu Singh are residents of Andhra Pradesh and Bihar respectively. The woman’s boyfriend Siddarth, who is the main kingpin in this case studied at management college in Bengaluru and is absconding.

A thorough investigation into the matter revealed that the duo met each other in college and fell in love with each other. Meanwhile, Siddarth became a drug peddler and Renuka joined a private firm. However, as Renuka was not happy with her salary, he convinced her to join him in the ganja business and earn enough to help her family.

It was in April last week when she booked a hotel in Marathahalli and her boyfriend and his aide Gopal procured ganja to her from Odisha through Visakhapatnam. As Siddarth was aware that there was high demand for ganja during the coronavirus-induced lockdown and the city was also facing a shortage. Thereby, he asked Sudhanshu to sell ganja along with his lover to earn heavy profits.
