Brother kills sibling in tumakuru over alleged illicit relationship; father aids cover-up

Tumakuru : In a shocking case of family violence, a young man who was engaged to be married was brutally killed by his own elder brother in Tumakuru city’s Banasawadi area. The incident, which initially appeared to be an accident, has now been revealed as a planned murder following police investigation.
The deceased, identified as Stalin (29), was allegedly killed by his brother Naveen, with the assistance of their father, John Paul. Police sources revealed that an argument within the family, triggered by allegations of an illicit relationship, escalated into violence, ultimately resulting in Stalin’s death.
Stalin was reportedly engaged to a woman named Jennifer, and his wedding preparations were underway. However, tensions began within the family after the bride-to-be allegedly accused Stalin of having an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law, Naveen’s wife. This allegation created serious conflict within the household and led to frequent arguments over the past week.
According to reports, the situation escalated on March 22 when Naveen allegedly attacked and killed his younger brother Stalin. Following the incident, the family attempted to cover up the crime by presenting it as an accident. They claimed that Stalin had fallen from his bike and sustained injuries after hitting a rod, which led to his hospitalization.
Stalin was admitted to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries after five days at Sree Siddaganga Hospital. Before the body was handed over to the family, police became suspicious due to inconsistencies in the reported cause of injury. Medical examination and investigation suggested that the injuries were caused by a sharp weapon rather than an accident.
Following this, police questioned John Paul, who initially attempted to mislead the investigation with a fabricated story. However, during interrogation, he eventually confessed to the truth, revealing the involvement of Naveen in the murder and his own role in assisting the cover-up.
The police have now registered a case and are continuing their investigation into the matter. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting how personal disputes within families can lead to tragic and violent outcomes.
