Will lockdown be imposed in Karnataka? BS Yediyurappa call experts meeting on today evening

Rising COVID-19 cases in Karnataka, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will be convening a meeting on Monday to take stock of the coronavirus situation. Reports said that the decisions to impose lockdown or other related restrictions across the state will be taken during the meet.

Yediyurappa on March 14 expressed concern over the increasing corona cases and urged people to follow social distancing norms and wear masks in public places if they don’t want another lockdown. “I appeal to the people with folded hands for cooperation…. if people cooperate, I’m confident that without lockdown we can control,” the Karnataka chief minister said.

As per the union ministry of health and family welfare data available on March 14, Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh have reported a steep rise in daily new corona cases and 87.73 per cent of the new infections in the last 24 hours.

With 934 people diagnosed with coronavirus, Karnataka’s coronavirus tally has increased to 9.60 lakh. The state recorded three deaths pushing the tally to 12,390. All three fatalities were reported from Bengaluru Urban.
