Tata Punch EV In 2023: Expected Range, Price, Features

Tata Motors recently confirmed the Punch electric SUV for the Indian market. While its official launch date and details are yet to be announced, the model is reported to hit roads in the third quarter of 2023 (i.e. just before the festive season). It will be the fourth electric offering from the home-grown automaker that currently sells Tiago EV, Tigor EV and Nexon EV. In the company’s product lineup, the Punch EV will sit above the Tigor EV and below the Nexon EV Prime. Its prices are expected to start from Rs 12 lakh and go up to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata’s Tigor and Nexon EV Prime are currently available within the price range of Rs 12.49 lakh – Rs 13.75 lakh and Rs 14.99 lakh – Rs 17.50 lakh respectively.

The upcoming Tata Punch EV will use the brand’s Ziptron high-voltage architecture. It could be offered with two battery packs, offering range of around 300km – 350km. The standard version is likely to borrow a 26kWh battery pack and 75PS, electric motor from the Tigor EV, while the long-range version might get Nexon EV’s 30.2kWh battery pack with a 129PS electric motor.

EV-specific changes are expected to be made inside and out. The Tata Punch EV will have Blue accent here and there, highlighting its electric nature. Similar to its ICE-powered version, the electric iteration will offer features such as a 7.0-inch part-digital instrument cluster, a 7.0-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, traction mode, cruise control, keyless entry and go, driver seat height adjust, auto climate control, power folding wing mirrors, rear seat centre armrest, a cooled glovebox, IRA connected car tech, rear view camera and more.

The new Tata Punch electric SUV might be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in January, 2023. At the mega automotive event, the company will also unveil the Harrier and Safari facelifts with its ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technology.
