Citroën eC3 electric SUV launched: Price and features

Citroën India today launched its first EV in India – the Citroën eC3 electric SUV at an introductory price of Rs 11,50,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). This full BEV (battery electric vehicle) is built at the French car marque’s manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. Deliveries of the new Citroën eC3 to the B2B and B2C segments will start end-February through Citroën’s La Maison showrooms across the country. Citroën eC3 electric SUV launched: Price and features.

The new electric SUV is available for retail in 25 cities, namely, New Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Nagpur, Vizag, Calicut, Guwahati, Bhopal, Karnal, Dehradun, Rajkot, Mangalore, and Coimbatore. The company states that all showrooms will be equipped with a DC fast charger.

The SUV is powered by a 29.2 kWh battery pack that delivers up to 320 km of range. It’s capable of DC fast-charging, taking 57 minutes to charge to 80 percent at the peak charging rate.

With 143 Nm, the e-motor ensures more torque than the C3’s base-spec 1.2-litre petrol engine, but the eC3 is heavier than the petrol hatch by nearly 300 kg.

The eC3 gets 35 connected features, including Driving behaviour analysis, Vehicle tracking, Emergency services call, auto crash notification, over-the-air software updates, Usage-based insurance parameters, and a first-in-segment seven-year subscription. For this, customers would need to download connectivity apps MY CITROËN CONNECT and C-BUDDY, available on both iOS and Android.
