Class 9 girl dies after alleged reaction to injection by fake doctor in Raichur

 

Raichur: A Class 9 student allegedly died following an adverse reaction to an injection administered by a fake doctor in Aminagada village of Raichur district, police said.The incident was reported from Aminagada village in Maski taluk. The deceased has been identified as Sindhu (15), daughter of Huligeppa.

According to family members, Sindhu was unwell and complained of discomfort. Her grandmother reportedly took her to a man in the village who claimed to be a doctor and was treating local residents. After examining the girl, he administered an injection.

The girl’s family has alleged that her condition worsened soon after the injection. “She developed complications after the injection was given,” the parents stated, alleging negligence by the individual.As her health deteriorated, she was shifted to a hospital in Manvi for further treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared her dead.

Sindhu’s parents, who were working in Bengaluru for their livelihood, had left their children in the care of their grandmother in the village. The grandmother informed them about the incident after the girl’s condition worsened and later about her death.The parents returned to the village upon receiving the information. The family has alleged that the injection given by the fake doctor led to the death of the minor.

Based on a complaint filed by the girl’s father at Kavital police station, a case has been registered. Police have begun an investigation into the incident.Officials said efforts are underway to trace the accused. Preliminary information suggests that the individual was moving around villages and offering treatment while posing as a doctor. He is reportedly said to be a native of West Bengal.

Police stated that further details regarding the accused and the circumstances of the incident will be known after he is traced and questioned.
