IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert In Karnataka For Next 1 week
Heavy rains are expected to continue until October 22 across several districts—including the coastal region, Bengaluru, and the southern interior—prompting the issuance of a 'Yellow Alert' for many of these areas.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall in Karnataka for another week. Heavy rains are expected to continue until October 22 across several districts—including the coastal region, Bengaluru, and the southern interior—prompting the issuance of a ‘Yellow Alert’ for many of these areas.
In Bengaluru, heavy downpours during the night have disrupted daily life. Given the intensity of the rain, the Meteorological Department has advised the public—particularly those living in low-lying areas—as well as motorists, to exercise caution.
In the coastal districts of Udupi, Uttara Kannada, and Dakshina Kannada, heavy rainfall is expected until October 19. Furthermore, heavy rain is anticipated until October 22 in Bengaluru (Urban and Rural), Mandya, Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Shivamogga, Kolar, Tumakuru, and Chamarajanagar.
Additionally, several districts in the northern interior region are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms. As a precautionary measure, the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for the coastal and interior districts and has instructed the respective district administrations to take necessary safety precautions.
