Redmi Note 17 Pro Goes on Sale With Rs 5,000 Discount Offer

Redmi Note 17 Pro sale begins in India with a Rs 5,000 discount offer, 9,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor and 50MP camera setup for buyers.

Xiaomi has started selling the Redmi Note 17 Pro in India, giving buyers a chance to purchase the new smartphone with a launch discount. The phone was introduced earlier this week and is now available through Amazon and Xiaomi’s official website.

The launch offer is one of the main attractions for buyers. Customers using eligible SBI Card, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IDFC First Bank cards can receive an instant discount of up to Rs 5,000, bringing down the effective purchase cost of the phone.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is available in two storage configurations. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 36,999, while the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs Rs 39,999. Buyers looking at the higher storage option may find it more suitable for keeping photos, videos, applications and other files for a longer period.

Battery capacity is another major talking point for the smartphone. Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Note 17 Pro with a large 9,000mAh battery, which is considerably bigger than what is commonly seen in many smartphones. The battery supports 67W HyperCharge fast charging and also offers 22.5W wired reverse charging.

The reverse charging feature allows the phone to supply power to compatible devices when required. This can be useful when another gadget needs some extra battery power while travelling or when a separate charger is not readily available.

On the front, the phone features a 6.83 inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The screen has a resolution of 2772 by 1280 pixels and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi has also rated the display for peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, which is intended to improve visibility in bright surroundings.

The display is paired with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. The chipset uses an octa core design and is accompanied by 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. Storage reaches up to 256GB with UFS 3.1 technology on the higher configuration.

For everyday security, the Redmi Note 17 Pro includes an in display fingerprint sensor. The combination of the processor, RAM and storage is aimed at handling regular applications, entertainment and multitasking without making the phone dependent on external storage.

Photography is handled by a dual rear camera system. The primary camera uses a 50 megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation. It is joined by an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera for wider scenes and group photographs.

Selfie duties are handled by a 16 megapixel front camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The camera is also designed for video calls and other front camera applications.

The software experience is based on Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 interface. Xiaomi has promised four years of software updates along with six years of security updates. This gives the device a longer stated support period and could be relevant for buyers who intend to keep the phone for several years.

Durability is another area where Xiaomi has focused attention. The Redmi Note 17 Pro carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection ratings. These ratings are designed to provide protection against dust and different forms of water exposure under specified testing conditions.

Connectivity options include 4G, 5G, dual band Wi Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The smartphone also includes an infrared blaster, NFC and a USB Type C port, giving users several options for wireless connectivity and accessory support.

With its large battery, high refresh rate AMOLED display and Snapdragon processor, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is positioned as a feature packed smartphone in its price segment. The launch discount also makes the initial purchase price lower for customers using eligible bank cards.

The first sale gives buyers a clearer picture of Xiaomi’s strategy for the new Note series model. Rather than focusing on just one specification, the Redmi Note 17 Pro combines battery capacity, display features, camera hardware, durability and long term software support in a single package.

For buyers considering the phone, the two storage variants provide different price points, while the launch offer could further reduce the amount paid at checkout. The availability of the discount will depend on the eligible card and applicable offer conditions.
