Ather Konarc Electric Scooter Launched With 161km Range Starting At Rs 99,999

Ather Energy has added a new electric scooter to its Indian lineup with the launch of the Ather Konarc. Built on the company’s new EL platform, the scooter focuses on affordability while retaining several features aimed at everyday urban riding.

The Konarc S is currently being introduced in three range focused versions. The entry model offers a claimed range of 100km and has been priced at Rs 99,999 ex showroom. Its deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

The other two versions are positioned higher in the range. The model with a claimed 125km range costs Rs 1,21,999, while the top version with a claimed range of 161km is priced at Rs 1,44,999. Deliveries of these two variants are expected to begin in September 2026.

Ather has paid considerable attention to the construction of the Konarc. The scooter uses a steel unibody chassis along with metal body panels. According to the company, this construction is designed to provide a strong and durable structure for everyday use.

The scooter also gets a relatively long 1,352mm wheelbase. Ather describes it as the longest scooter in its lineup so far. At the same time, the company has managed to provide 31 litres of storage beneath the seat, which should be useful for carrying everyday items.

Wheel sizes are different at the front and rear. The Konarc uses a 14 inch front tyre and a 12 inch rear tyre. The overall setup is designed around stability and everyday riding comfort.

Battery capacity varies according to the chosen model. Customers can select from 2.1kWh, 2.7kWh and 3.5kWh battery options. The battery packs use aluminium casing and carry an IP67 rating for resistance against dust and water exposure within the specified limits.

Braking is another area where Ather has introduced new technology. The Konarc features the company’s AeBS braking system, which Ather says can deliver up to 20 percent more braking power. The scooter also includes a front disc brake and combined braking system.

For added control, the electric scooter gets features such as skid control and auto hold. These additions are intended to make riding easier in different traffic conditions, particularly when starting, stopping or dealing with slippery surfaces.

Comfort has also been considered in the design. The Konarc gets padded grab handles, an adjustable backrest and rear suspension. These features are aimed at making the scooter more comfortable for both the rider and passenger during regular journeys.

With the starting price of Rs 99,999, the Ather Konarc enters the market as a more affordable option from the company. The three battery choices also give buyers the option to select a version based on their expected daily travel needs.

The 100km model is targeted at buyers looking for a lower entry price, while the 125km and 161km versions offer greater claimed range for those who regularly travel longer distances. The different delivery timelines mean customers will also need to consider availability when choosing a variant.

Overall, the Ather Konarc combines a new platform, metal construction, multiple battery choices and practical storage with a starting price below Rs 1 lakh. Its actual appeal will become clearer as deliveries begin and customers get to experience the scooter on Indian roads.
