KPSC Halts Veterinary Officer Recruitment Forms Internal Panel to Probe Alleged Irregularities

The Karnataka Public Service Commission has temporarily halted the implementation of its final selection list for Veterinary Officer recruitment after allegations of irregularities surfaced. The commission has also constituted an internal inquiry panel to examine the recruitment process and submit its findings at the earliest.

The decision comes amid growing scrutiny over recruitment practices and increasing public discussion about transparency in government appointments. In an official statement, KPSC Secretary K Jyothi said the commission remains committed to ensuring fairness, transparency, and public confidence in all recruitment procedures. Appropriate action, she added, will be taken based on the inquiry report.

An emergency meeting of the commission was convened on July 26 after officials reviewed a police complaint filed at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station on July 24. The commission also took note of reports circulating on social media and in various news outlets regarding the alleged irregularities in the Veterinary Officer recruitment process.

To ensure an impartial review, KPSC has established an internal inquiry subcommittee headed by a senior member of the commission. The panel has been asked to examine every stage of the recruitment process, verify all relevant documents, and determine whether the allegations have any factual basis.

The commission has directed the inquiry panel to submit a comprehensive report within one week. The investigation will include scrutiny of the examination process, evaluation procedures, and all associated records before the panel presents its findings.

To assist the inquiry, the KPSC Secretary has been appointed as the nodal officer responsible for providing administrative records and other required documentation. In addition, the head of the commission’s legal division has been assigned to offer legal guidance throughout the investigation.

As a precautionary measure, KPSC has decided to keep the final selection list for Veterinary Officer recruitment, which was published on July 17, on hold until the inquiry is completed. The commission stated that no further action related to the appointments will be taken until the investigation report is submitted and reviewed.

The commission reiterated that maintaining integrity in the recruitment process remains its highest priority. Officials said every complaint will be examined carefully and any future decisions regarding the recruitment exercise will be based entirely on the conclusions of the internal inquiry, with the objective of protecting public trust in the selection system.
