DK Shivakumar Pays Tribute on Kargil Vijay Diwas Comments on Dharmendra Pradhan Resignation

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War while also making remarks on the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Speaking to reporters after attending a Kargil Vijay Diwas event in Bengaluru, the Chief Minister said the resignation was the result of sustained public pressure from students and young people across the country.
According to Shivakumar, the former Union minister did not step down voluntarily. He claimed that the voices of students and youth played a decisive role in creating the circumstances that ultimately led to the resignation. The Chief Minister made these comments while interacting with the media after the commemorative ceremony.
The Kargil Vijay Diwas program was held at the National Military Memorial located near the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bengaluru. The event was organized to remember the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1999 Kargil War and to honor the soldiers who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
During the ceremony, Shivakumar offered floral tributes to the martyrs and expressed gratitude for their courage and sacrifice. He joined military personnel and other dignitaries in paying homage to the fallen heroes whose contributions continue to inspire generations of Indians.
The event also featured ceremonial military honors for the soldiers who lost their lives in the conflict. Personnel from the armed forces paid their respects through formal tribute ceremonies, including traditional military salutes, as attendees observed the solemn occasion in memory of the brave servicemen.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year to commemorate India’s victory in the 1999 conflict and to recognize the extraordinary bravery displayed by the country’s armed forces.
