iPhone 18 Pro Max Could Launch In India At Nearly Rs 1.79 Lakh Says Report
A new report suggests Apple's upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max may arrive with a higher price due to advanced hardware, premium components, and next generation chip technology.
Apple’s next flagship smartphone could become the company’s most expensive standard iPhone in India if recent industry reports prove accurate. While the company has not officially confirmed pricing or specifications, market estimates indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro Max may launch with a significantly higher price than its predecessor.
According to the report, the iPhone 18 Pro Max with 256GB of storage could debut in India at around Rs 1,78,900. If this estimate turns out to be correct, the new model would cost approximately Rs 19,000 more than the current iPhone 17 Pro Max at launch.
The report also predicts that the smartphone could be priced between 1,299 dollars and 1,399 dollars in the United States. The expected increase reflects Apple’s possible strategy of introducing major hardware upgrades while adjusting prices to match rising production costs.
One of the key reasons cited for the potential price increase is the next generation processor. Apple is reportedly preparing to use the new A20 Pro chipset, which is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. Producing chips with this technology is believed to be considerably more expensive than the current 3nm manufacturing process, increasing the overall cost of the device.
Apart from the processor, rising prices of memory and storage components could also contribute to the higher retail price. Reports suggest that the cost of DRAM and NAND flash storage has increased, adding further pressure to smartphone manufacturing expenses.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is also expected to receive several hardware improvements. Industry reports indicate that the device could feature 12GB of RAM, a larger battery, Apple’s new C2 modem, an upgraded camera system, and a variable aperture camera designed to improve photography across different lighting conditions. The Dynamic Island is also expected to become smaller, giving users more screen space.
Analysts believe Apple may pass part of these increased production costs on to customers in order to maintain its profit margins. This approach could result in the upcoming Pro models carrying noticeably higher prices than the current generation.
