Apple iPhone Ultra Price Leak Hints at Premium Foldable Experience in India
Apple’s first foldable iPhone could arrive with flagship level hardware a unique design and a premium price tag that may place it among the most expensive smartphones.

Apple’s long rumoured foldable smartphone is once again making headlines, even before its official unveiling. While the company has not confirmed the existence of the device, industry reports and supply chain leaks continue to fuel speculation about what could become Apple’s first entry into the foldable smartphone segment. The device is widely expected to launch under the iPhone Ultra branding and may debut alongside the iPhone 18 lineup later this year.
One of the biggest questions surrounding the upcoming foldable iPhone has been its price. According to recent reports, the device could carry a starting price between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.25 lakh in India. If these estimates prove accurate, the iPhone Ultra would become one of the most expensive smartphones Apple has ever introduced in the country, positioning it firmly in the ultra premium category.
The expected price reflects the ambitious hardware reportedly planned for the device. Leaks suggest the foldable model may feature a large 7.8 inch OLED internal display paired with a 5.5 inch external screen. Both panels are said to use advanced OLED technology designed to deliver improved brightness, color accuracy and power efficiency. Apple is also believed to be focusing heavily on display quality, with reports indicating that the internal screen could have a nearly crease free design, a challenge that has troubled many foldable devices so far.
Performance is expected to be another major highlight. The foldable iPhone could be powered by Apple’s next generation A20 Pro chipset, which is rumored to be built on an advanced 2nm manufacturing process. Combined with up to 12GB of RAM and storage options reaching 1TB, the device may offer flagship level speed and multitasking capabilities aimed at power users.
Photography enthusiasts can also expect premium hardware. Reports indicate that the phone may feature a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 48 megapixel primary sensor and a 48 megapixel ultra wide camera. For selfies and video calls, an 18 megapixel front facing camera is expected. Unlike some premium iPhone models, however, the foldable version may skip a dedicated telephoto lens, focusing instead on a slimmer design and internal space optimization.
Battery life could receive a significant boost as well. The device is rumored to pack a battery capacity of around 5800mAh, which would be notably larger than most current iPhones. Industry insiders also suggest Apple could rely entirely on eSIM technology, eliminating the physical SIM tray and creating additional room for battery components and internal hardware.
Design remains one of the most discussed aspects of the upcoming device. Reports suggest the foldable iPhone could feature a titanium frame for enhanced durability while maintaining a lightweight profile. Apple is also said to be developing a liquid metal hinge mechanism aimed at improving longevity and creating a smoother folding experience. When folded, the device may resemble two ultra thin iPhones stacked together, while remaining among the slimmest foldable smartphones available.
The software experience is expected to play a crucial role as well. The foldable model could ship with a future version of iOS featuring enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities and a more advanced Siri assistant. These features may be optimized for the larger foldable display, offering improved productivity and multitasking experiences.
Although Apple remains silent about its foldable plans, the growing number of leaks suggests the company is preparing something significantly different from existing foldable phones. If the reported specifications and pricing are accurate, the iPhone Ultra could become Apple’s boldest smartphone launch in years, targeting users who want cutting edge technology and are willing to pay a premium for it.
