Apple iPhone 20 Anniversary Model May Feature Advanced Dual Layer OLED Display and Major Design Changes
Apple is reportedly preparing a special 20th anniversary iPhone with dual layer OLED display solid state buttons improved battery technology and premium design upgrades that could redefine the future of iPhone experience for users

Apple is moving closer to a major milestone as the iPhone series completes 20 years next year. To mark this occasion, the company is expected to introduce a special anniversary edition smartphone, which many leaks suggest could be called the iPhone 20. This model is already creating curiosity as early reports hint at significant design and hardware upgrades that go beyond regular yearly improvements
One of the most talked about changes in this upcoming device is the possible introduction of a dual layer OLED display. Along with this, the screen is expected to feature Ceramic Shield protection, making it more durable against scratches and accidental drops. There are also indications that Apple is working closely with advanced display technologies, with Samsung OLED panels and COE technology being part of the discussion for improved brightness and power efficiency
A recent leak shared by a tipster on Weibo suggests that Apple may also introduce solid state buttons in this anniversary model. Unlike traditional mechanical buttons, these do not physically move. Instead, they respond to pressure and provide haptic feedback, making them feel similar to real buttons while being more durable in the long run. These buttons are also expected to work with an ultra low power chip, allowing them to function even when the device is switched off in certain conditions
Battery performance could also see a major leap in this special edition iPhone. Reports suggest that Apple may include a 6000 mAh battery along with support for wireless reverse charging. This would allow users to charge other devices directly from their iPhone, adding more flexibility to everyday use. Another expected highlight is the placement of the front camera under the display, which could help achieve a cleaner full screen design without visible cutouts
Interestingly, some reports indicate that Apple’s upcoming foldable phone may also arrive around the same period, possibly even before the anniversary model. This foldable device is expected to follow a book style design and could be marketed under a premium name such as iPhone Ultra. It may feature a 48 megapixel primary camera along with a 48 megapixel ultra wide lens, focusing on both photography and versatility
While Apple has not officially confirmed any of these details, the leaks have already created strong anticipation among tech followers. If even a portion of these upgrades becomes reality, the 20th anniversary iPhone could mark one of the biggest design shifts in the company’s smartphone history, combining new display technology, improved durability and a more futuristic user experience
