Power Struggle At Panchamasali Mutt Continues As Vachananda Swamiji Gains Support

Bengaluru ;The ongoing dispute at the Panchamasali Mutt in Davanagere district has intensified, with Vachananda Swamiji continuing his resistance despite being removed from his position. The issue has now turned into a high-stakes confrontation between the seer and the mutt’s governing trust.

The conflict began on April 13 at the mutt located near Hanagawadi in Harihar taluk, when allegations of financial irregularities surfaced. Devotees demanded that the trust provide a detailed account of funds, alleging misuse to the tune of ₹15 crore.

Amid the protests, the trustees convened a meeting under police security and announced the removal of Vachananda Swamiji from the peeth. The decision led to clashes and heightened tensions, with supporters rallying behind the seer.

Despite the expulsion, Swamiji has remained at the mutt, continuing religious activities and receiving devotees. His continued presence has further strengthened his position, as more followers have come forward in support.

In response to the growing pressure, the trustees recently held a press conference and announced that they are ready to present financial records from 2008 to 2026. The move is being seen as an attempt to address allegations and restore credibility.

However, the announcement has not satisfied Swamiji’s supporters. They have demanded that the accounts be presented in a transparent and inclusive manner, with devotees from across Karnataka invited to witness the process. They have also sought disclosure of donor details and broader public communication before any formal presentation.

The situation has now reached a point where both sides are engaged in an equal battle, with neither showing signs of compromise. While the trustees have set April 27 as the date to present accounts, supporters of the seer have made it clear that they will not accept anything short of full transparency.
