Student’s grit triumphs over illness in  Kolar  SSLC exam

Kolar : In an inspiring story of determination and resilience, a student from Kolar district has proved that perseverance can overcome even the toughest challenges. Kusuma, a resident of Chinnaganahalli in KGF taluk, has successfully cleared the SSLC examination despite battling severe illness during the exam period.

Kusuma’s story has captured widespread attention after she wrote her examinations under extraordinary circumstances. Suffering from serious health complications, she was unable to even stand on her feet. However, determined not to miss the crucial examination, she was transported to the exam centre in an ambulance on multiple days. In a rare and emotional sight, she wrote her exams lying on a stretcher, displaying remarkable courage and commitment to her education.

The results announced on Thursday brought cheer to her family and well-wishers. Kusuma scored 374 marks out of 625, a commendable achievement considering the physical pain and distress she endured during the examination period. Her performance stands as a testament to her unwavering willpower and dedication.

Currently, Kusuma is undergoing further treatment at HOSMAT Hospital in Bengaluru, where doctors are closely monitoring her condition. Despite her ongoing health struggles, her achievement has become a source of inspiration for students across the state.

Her extraordinary effort was made possible with strong institutional support. The district education department in Kolar, along with local authorities and the police department, ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place to facilitate her exam participation. Special logistical support, including ambulance transport and examination supervision, was arranged to accommodate her medical condition.

Notably, former education minister S. Suresh Kumar extended crucial support by coordinating with officials and ensuring that Kusuma received all required assistance without procedural hurdles. Local representatives and officials also played a key role in enabling her to appear for the examination smoothly.
