Whirlpool expands No Tension refrigerator range in India with smart auto defrost technology

Whirlpool has launched its latest Vitamagic and IMPRO Plus single door refrigerators in India featuring automatic defrost smart cooling modes and advanced freshness technology designed to improve everyday food storage convenience

Whirlpool has strengthened its presence in the Indian home appliance market by expanding its single door refrigerator lineup under the No Tension range. The new models, including Whirlpool Vitamagic Refrigerator and Whirlpool IMPRO Plus Refrigerator, focus on making everyday refrigeration more effortless with automation and smarter cooling features.

The launch brings one of the largest automatic defrost refrigerator portfolios in the category, designed to remove the need for manual ice removal. With this upgrade, Whirlpool aims to reduce one of the most common household inconveniences while improving overall usability and hygiene inside the refrigerator.

Pricing for the new range starts at around 17700 rupees, depending on capacity and configuration. The refrigerators are available in multiple storage options ranging from 192 litres to 274 litres, making them suitable for small as well as medium sized families. They also come with energy efficiency ratings between 2 star and 5 star, offering users flexibility based on their consumption needs.

One of the key highlights of the new lineup is the 6th Sense IntelliFrost technology, which automatically detects ice buildup and triggers defrosting when required. This eliminates manual effort while ensuring that cooling performance remains consistent. It also helps prevent water accumulation inside the fridge, making maintenance easier and more hygienic in daily use.

Beyond defrosting, the refrigerators are designed to adapt to different usage patterns. Smart cooling modes allow users to adjust performance based on daily needs. Features like FlexiCool provide adjustable cooling levels including low, medium and high settings, while Fast Forward Ice helps produce ice in under two hours. An Eco mode further supports energy saving during low usage periods such as vacations.

Whirlpool has also focused on food freshness and hygiene with this range. Both models are equipped with Microblock technology that claims to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99 percent, helping keep stored food safer for longer durations. The IMPRO Plus variant is designed to maintain garden fresh quality for up to 15 days, while the Vitamagic series supports freshness for up to 12 days.

Adding to this, the Vitamagic lineup includes Whirlpool’s patented Zeolite technology, which helps absorb ethylene gas released by fruits and vegetables. By controlling this gas, the system helps slow down ripening and preserve nutrients for longer, reportedly maintaining up to 40 percent more vitamin retention over time.

With this expanded range, Whirlpool is clearly targeting consumers who want modern refrigeration solutions that combine convenience, energy efficiency and long lasting freshness in a single appliance.
