WhatsApp, an instant messaging app owned by Meta (Facebook), is rolling out new search capabilities to inform you about nearby businesses. This feature has been released to some people in São Paulo and will be rolled out to more people in the future, says WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo.
This new cool feature will be available to both iOS and Android users. WhatsApp users will find it useful to search for hotels, eateries, grocery stores, clothing stores, etc. without actually leaving the app. “When you search for something in WhatsApp, you’ll see a new section called” Nearby Businesses.
” When you select a category, the results for your business account are filtered based on your selection, “says WABetaInfo. This feature is not yet available, but will be available in a future update for users who already have access to the business directory. Unfortunately, there is no information about the ability to use the features of the Business Directory for people who do not live in São Paulo.
Not only this, WhatsApp introduced a redesigned page for business information after releasing WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.170.12 update. This is very similar to the iOS contact card when you open the roster, and on Android, status updates. In a future update of WhatsApp Beta for iOS and Android, WhatsApp also plans to introduce the same redesigned page for contact information.
