Vivo has expanded its wearable lineup with the launch of the Watch 6, introduced alongside the Vivo X500 series. The new smartwatch combines a premium display with health monitoring tools, cellular connectivity and a battery designed for extended use.
The display is one of the first things that stands out on the Vivo Watch 6. It features a 1.47 inch AMOLED panel protected by sapphire crystal. The screen supports a 60Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 3500 nits, which should help with visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
At night, the display can reduce its brightness to as low as 2 nits. The watch also supports an always on display, allowing users to check basic information without fully activating the screen.
Vivo has introduced the smartwatch in multiple configurations. The starting model is priced at 1399 yuan, which is around Rs 20,000 based on the supplied conversion. The top model costs 1999 yuan, roughly Rs 28,500. The watch is offered in Wilderness and Moonlight finishes, while the Natural colour option is reserved for the titanium version.
Build quality also differs between the variants. The standard model uses a 316L stainless steel frame and weighs around 44 grams. The more premium version uses TC4 aerospace grade titanium alloy, giving it a different construction and finish.
Health tracking is another major part of the Watch 6 experience. Vivo says the smartwatch uses an eight channel heart rate sensor and a 16 channel blood oxygen sensor. The company claims heart rate measurement accuracy of up to 97.2 percent under its testing conditions.
The watch can monitor heart rate and blood oxygen levels and also includes stress monitoring. These features are intended to give users a broader view of their daily activity and wellness data. As with other consumer wearables, readings should be treated as general wellness information rather than a replacement for professional medical equipment.
For people who regularly exercise, Vivo has included more than 100 sports modes. This gives the watch support for a wide variety of activities and allows users to track different forms of exercise from the same device.
Battery performance is another important highlight. Vivo says the Bluetooth version can deliver up to 10 days of battery life with normal usage. With lighter usage, the company claims the battery can last for as long as 21 days.
The eSIM version has different battery figures because it can operate with cellular connectivity. When connected to a phone, Vivo claims around seven days of battery life, while standalone use is rated at up to four days.
The addition of eSIM makes the cellular model more independent from a smartphone. Users can potentially perform supported connected functions without keeping the watch continuously linked to their phone, although actual battery life will depend on network use and other settings.
The smartwatch also offers a collection of watch faces, allowing users to change the appearance of the screen according to their preferences. Combined with the AMOLED panel and always on display, these options give the watch a more personalised look.
Vivo is positioning the Watch 6 as a premium wearable rather than simply an extension of a smartphone. The use of sapphire crystal, AMOLED technology and titanium on the higher end model adds to that positioning, while health tracking and sports features focus on everyday use.
