Apple’s latest iPhone launches have changed the pricing of some older models in India, but buyers looking for a more affordable device still have another option. Refurbished iPhones are available through platforms such as Maple Store and Cashify, with older models selling considerably below their original launch prices.

The price difference becomes noticeable when comparing the original cost of an iPhone with its current refurbished price. However, these devices are pre owned products rather than brand new units, so buyers need to pay attention to battery health, warranty coverage and the condition of the individual handset.

The iPhone 15 is among the models currently available at a lower price. The smartphone was launched in India and other global markets in September 2023 with a starting price of Rs 79,900.

At Maple Store, the 128GB iPhone 15 in Yellow was listed at Rs 42,999. The particular device mentioned has 83 percent battery capacity and comes with a 12 month warranty.

Cashify was offering another 128GB iPhone 15 option in Blue for Rs 41,999. Its standard warranty period is six months, although customers can pay for an additional six months of warranty coverage.

The difference between the two listings is relatively small, but the warranty terms and battery condition can make the choice more significant than the headline price alone. Buyers considering a refurbished phone should therefore check the complete listing before placing an order.

The iPhone 16 is another option for customers who want a newer generation device without paying its original launch price. Apple introduced the iPhone 16 in September 2024 with a starting price of Rs 79,900 in India.

A 128GB iPhone 16 in Pink was listed on Maple Store for Rs 52,999. The device has 91 percent battery capacity and includes a 12 month warranty.

Cashify had a 128GB iPhone 16 in Black listed for Rs 54,999. The device comes with a six month warranty as standard, with an option to purchase another six months of coverage.

These refurbished prices are significantly below the original launch prices of both models. That makes them relevant for customers who want an iPhone but are not necessarily looking for the newest generation.

The iPhone 17 presents a different situation. The 256GB model originally launched at Rs 82,900, but its price has reportedly risen to Rs 99,900 on Apple’s official website and other major ecommerce platforms. That represents an increase of Rs 17,000 compared with its launch price.

At the time of the information provided, the iPhone 17 was not listed as a refurbished device on Maple Store or Cashify. As a result, buyers looking specifically for a cheaper iPhone 17 may have fewer refurbished options than those considering the iPhone 15 or iPhone 16.

The change in pricing follows Apple’s introduction of its newer iPhone lineup, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo. Price adjustments to previous models can make refurbished devices more interesting for shoppers who are comfortable buying a pre owned phone.

There is an important distinction between refurbished and new smartphones. A refurbished iPhone may have been previously used and subsequently inspected, tested or restored before being offered for sale. The condition can vary from one device to another, which is why details such as battery capacity and warranty should not be overlooked.

Battery health is particularly important with older iPhones. The examples listed above show different battery capacities, with the iPhone 16 listing from Maple Store showing 91 percent and the iPhone 15 listing showing 83 percent. A buyer comparing two phones should consider this information alongside the price.

Warranty coverage is another factor that can affect the overall value of a refurbished device. Maple Store listings mentioned in the available information carry 12 month warranties, while Cashify provides six months of standard coverage with an option to extend it through an additional paid warranty.

The lower price can certainly make refurbished iPhones attractive, but buyers should also check the seller’s return policy, device condition, battery health and warranty terms before completing a purchase. The exact stock and prices can change depending on availability.

For shoppers who do not need the newest iPhone, the refurbished market provides a way to consider previous generations at prices substantially below their original launch costs. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 currently illustrate that difference, while the iPhone 17 remains comparatively expensive based on the listed pricing.
