Realme 16 5G Set for April Launch with Unique Selfie Mirror and Massive Battery
Realme is preparing to launch its new smartphone with a focus on camera innovation and long battery life introducing a rare rear selfie mirror feature alongside advanced AI capabilities

Realme is gearing up to introduce its upcoming smartphone, the Realme 16 5G, with a launch scheduled for early April. The company is positioning the device as a camera focused offering, blending photography innovation with strong battery performance.
One of the most talked about features is the rear selfie mirror, a design element rarely seen in smartphones. Built directly into the camera module on the back panel, the mirror allows users to frame selfies using the primary rear camera. This not only improves image quality compared to typical front cameras but also helps while recording videos or capturing detailed shots.
The camera system itself appears to be a major highlight. The phone is expected to feature a 50 megapixel Sony sensor on the rear, paired with advanced imaging tools and AI enhancements. On the front, another 50 megapixel camera is included, suggesting that the device is built for users who prioritize high quality selfies and video calls.
Battery life is another area where the Realme 16 5G aims to stand out. The device is equipped with a large 7000mAh battery, designed to support extended usage throughout the day. It also supports 60W wired charging, allowing users to quickly top up the battery when needed.
In terms of design, the smartphone features a slim profile despite its large battery capacity. It is expected to measure around 8.1mm in thickness and weigh approximately 183 grams. The device will be available in stylish color options and includes an anti fingerprint coating to maintain a clean look during regular use.
The display is also designed to impress, featuring a large 6.75 inch screen with slim bezels and curved edges. High brightness levels ensure visibility even under strong lighting conditions, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Durability and thermal performance have also been addressed. The phone is said to include an advanced cooling system to maintain performance during heavy usage such as gaming or video recording. Additionally, it comes with a high level of water resistance, adding an extra layer of reliability.
On the software side, Realme plans to offer long term support with multiple years of Android updates and security patches. This ensures that users can keep their devices updated and secure for an extended period.
The official launch is set for April 2, where full details including pricing and availability will be revealed. With its combination of a unique camera feature, large battery, and modern design, the Realme 16 5G is shaping up to be an interesting option in the competitive mid range smartphone segment.
