PAN card important changes, everyone must do it before deadline

Income Tax department said If you don’t link your Aadhaar card and PAN card by March 31, 2022, your PAN card will expire. Income Tax Department also recently tweeted that if your PAN card is inactive it will remain just a piece of plastic; you will not be able to use it anywhere. As per the Income Tax Act, 1961, the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar is 31.3.2023. All PAN holders who do not fall under the exempt category, failing which the unlinked PAN will become inactive. Don’t delay, link today, tweeted.

CBDT Circular:

CBDT’s Circular F. No. 370142/, every person allotted PAN as on July 1, 2017 and eligible to receive Aadhaar number should link PAN with their Aadhaar on or before March 31, 2022. 14/22-TPL issued on March 30, 2022. Aadhaar-PAN card linking is mandatory. Taxpayers who do not link their PAN and Aadhaar will have to pay a fee of Rs 500. Additionally, from June 30, 2022, individuals who link their Aadhaar card with PAN will get Rs 1000. Fees must be paid.

1000 rupees fee:

If you have not yet linked your Aadhaar card to your PAN card and do so after receiving a circular from the Income Tax Department, you will be charged Rs.1000. Costs must be paid. Further, if you do not link your Aadhaar and PAN by March 31, 2023, your PAN card will expire and cannot be renewed.
