Millions of Indians today received emergency alert message: Here is reason

Millions of people in India received an emergency alert message on their mobile phones, due to people were worried. They shared the messages they received on social media and asked that anyone received this type of message. But it is learned that the National Disaster Management Authority sent the message on a test basis.

People heaved a sigh of relief after learning that it was a sample test message sent by the Indian Government’s Department of Telecommunications over the Cell Broadcasting System. By 11.35 am today, many mobile users in India received an emergency alert message from the government. It is sent with a recorded voice of an emergency alert.

This warning message accompanied by a beep sound was sent within a few minutes in both Hindi and English languages.

What does the National Disaster Management Authority says:

This warning message is part of a test of the emergency warning system. It is conducted by the National Disaster Management Authority. It is part of a test conducted to assess whether the warning system is effective during an emergency and to identify any potential problems. The message was sent between 11:30 and 11:44 by the Cell Broadcasting System (CBS).

This message is sent to test the Pan India Emergency Alert System. It aims to enhance public safety and provide timely warnings during emergencies. Notably, a cell broadcasting system is a technology used by mobile operators to send messages to all phones in a given area, regardless of whether the phone is switched on or not, and whether it is in a mobile network area or not. Android phone users in India received similar test alerts on September 15, July 20 and August 17.
