Google is warning Android phone users to delete 151 dangerous mobile phone apps it has just banned from its Play Store over ties to a SMS scam campaign. Cybersecurity service Avast first identified the widespread premium SMS campaign operating through apps listed on the Google Play Store earlier in October.
Scroll down to see the full list of apps you need to delete from your phone. Dubbed the UltimaSMS campaign, Avast identified 151 fake apps that have been disguised as photo and video editors, spam call blockers, camera filters, QR code scanners, and all sorts of games.
The apps have been downloaded more than 10 million times in more than 80 countries, according to Avast.
Android list of scam apps
The cybersecurity company created a list of all 151 Android apps that are part of the UltimaSMS scam campaign. If you have downloaded any of the apps below, uninstall them immediately and check your bank statement for any unusual charges.
You should then reach out to your mobile service provider to disable any premium SMS options on your account.

Android & iPhone malware warning
The latest warning for Android users comes weeks after mobile malware ‘Flubot’ targeted millions of Australians.Mobile phone scams in Australia. It works by sending a text message to both Android and iPhone users with an alert for a missed call or new voicemail. Within this text message is a link to access a fake voicemail.
When a user clicks on this link it redirects them to a webpage that imitates an official brand such as Telstra and Optus. This page contains information that prompts a user to install software on their phone in order to listen to the fake voicemail message.
