To expand its user base in India, the e-commerce site Amazon has recently introduced a new membership plan called Amazon Prime Lite. It is a cheaper and simpler version of their popular Prime subscription service.

While the new Prime Lite membership plan offers almost similar benefits as the regular Prime membership plan, it does have some differences to make it more affordable and budget-friendly for users. The plan was initially available for limited users, but the company has now made it available for all.

Amazon has introduced a new Prime Lite subscription tier for users in India. This will be a cheaper version of the Prime membership with lesser benefits. Amazon Prime Lite comes with just one annual subscription plan, unlike the Prime membership.

Amazon Prime Lite: Price, how to sign up

Amazon Prime Lite is launched at Rs 999 for 12 months. On the other hand, an Amazon Prime membership costs you Rs 1,499 for a year in India. Amazon Prime Lite is available on Android, iOS and web for users in India. They can choose any of these platforms to sign up for this plan now.

Anyone who is not a Prime member can subscribe to the new and cheaper version of Amazon’s premium membership.

Amazon Prime vs Prime Lite pricing:

Amazon Prime Videos in India offers various subscription plans with different benefits and prices. The monthly plan costs Rs 299 and includes all Prime benefits. The quarterly plan, priced at Rs 599, provides the same benefits and saves Rs 78 per quarter.

The yearly plan, costing Rs 1,499, offers all benefits and saves Rs 337 compared to the quarterly plan and Rs 649 compared to the monthly plan over one year. The affordable lite yearly plan at Rs 999 excludes Amazon Music but includes most Prime benefits and ads.

The mobile yearly plan for Rs 599 offers limited features, standard resolution streaming, and excludes Amazon Music. It is Rs 900 cheaper than the regular annual plan and provides access to Amazon Originals, live cricket, movies, X-ray powered by IMDb, and downloads for offline viewing.

As for the new Amazon Lite plan, it’s a single annual plan and costs Rs 999 for 12 months. Currently, the e-commerce site has introduced only a single plan for Prime Lite membership, and there are no options for monthly or quarterly plans available.
