Train ticket prices increased: Hubli-Bangalore and other passengers

Hubli: In 2022, the South Western Railway rebranded Passenger and Passenger Special trains as Superfast trains and hiked the ticket fare to double the previous fare. But this decision of the railway department is getting outraged by the passengers. Train ticket prices increased: Hubli-Bangalore and other passengers.

Trains are known for comfortable and cheap travel. Indian Railways is the largest communication network. But the South Western Railway has rebranded passenger and passenger special trains as superfast trains in 2022, raising the ticket price to double the previous price, which has become the target of passenger outrage. But he expressed his displeasure that there is no difference in the speed of these superfast trains.

Since 2014, South Western Railway has not hiked ticket fares. But after the Corona epidemic hit the country in 2019, the number of passengers decreased due to lockdown and other reasons. In this background trains were renamed as Superfast and the ticket price of the train was increased.

Before Corona, Hubli-Bangalore City-Hubli fast passenger train was convenient for the poor people of North Karnataka to travel cheaply. But after the South Western Railway Department changed it to Super Fast (car number 17391 and 17392), the ticket price has been doubled and The train will stop at 31 stations on that route as before. If so, how can this be a super fast train? Moreover, South Western Railway (SWR) passenger committee secretary Rohit S Jain alleged that Hubli-Chitradurga-Hubli and Hubli-Arsikere-Hubli express trains are plying like passenger trains.

The Vijayapur-Mangalore-Vijaypur train has been running for 3 years with a “special” tag to collect one and a half percent more money than before. As per rules, ‘special’ trains should be run only for 6 months to 1 year. Nowadays South Western Railway Department is running trains with higher fares. The fare of these trains is same as bus fare. But he expressed outrage that the stops of these fake express trains have not been reduced and the facilities have not been increased.

There are many such trains in North Karnataka and the poor passengers are being cheated openly. Hubli-Tirupati-Hubli train was fast passenger before Corona. Now changed to Superfast (car number 07657 and 07658) to collect higher fare. Solapur-Gadag-Solapur passenger train is now express. Prof. Bhargav H.K. who travels daily from Gadag said that it will stop at all stations.
