Weather Report: Heavy Rain Alert in Karnataka from today

Weather Report: Heavy rainfall is likely to hammer parts of the Karnataka during the next five days from today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. After the onset of Monsoon rains, it is pouring incessantly in various parts of the state.

In some places, there is not enough rain to soften the land, and the farmers are waiting for the arrival rain. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the state for four days from today. The State Meteorological Department informed about this, said that there is cloudy weather in Bengaluru and it will rain today as well.

Still, there is a forecast of heavy rain in the southern hinterland of the state from July 9 to 13, and a yellow alert has been issued as a precautionary measure. The weather department has predicted that there is a possibility of heavy rain in some parts of the northern interior, also advised people to be careful.

Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and several parts of northwest India were battered by heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday morning, resulting in waterlogging and traffic congestion in many places. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of flash floods and avalanches in the Lahul and Spiti district, while a “yellow” alert has been sounded for Delhi on Sunday.

Heavy showers were also witnessed in parts of Kerala, leading to traffic snarls and waterlogging in low-lying areas. The Jhelum River and its tributaries in Kashmir saw a rapid rise in water levels due to heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to advise people living near water bodies to remain vigilant and avoid venturing close to the water.

Other regions affected by heavy rainfall include Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, eastern Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and parts of Karnataka. Landslides and flash floods blocked roads in various areas.
