As the State government finally officially launch Shakti Yojana, scheme to allow women to travel free in the State run road transport corporations from today (June 11). Shakti Yojana officially started: must keep this before you travel in bus.

Shakti scheme which is an important scheme among the five guarantees of the Congress government has been launched across the state today (June 11) Chief Minister Siddaramaiah officially launched Shakti Yojana in front of Vidhana Soudha.  At the same time, he released the logo, sticker and smart card model of Shakti Yojana in the program.

Smart cards were given to five women symbolically. Along with this, from today, women can travel in the state transport and BMTC buses free of cost. For free travel in bus must keep any ID. It is mandatory to show ID with photo and address. Now apply for free bus pass through Seva Sindhu portal and get smart card.

Three months’ time has been given for this, after which women can travel in the bus for free by showing their smart card. Please note that free travel is allowed in 4 transport companies including BMTC, KSRTC. Free travel scheme is not include in luxury buses such as Rajahamsa, Non AC Sleeper, AC Sleeper, Airavata, Airavata Club Class, Ambari, Ambari Dream Class. Guidelines for women passengers have already been released.

Guidelines have also been given to the transport staff. Buses with free travel will be stickered. Only some inter-state buses are allowed to travel for free and have a guarantee sticker. So women have to board the bus after looking at the sticker.

The transport department has introduced pink tickets to collect travel information for women. For women’s free bus travel, the conductor gives a free ticket. If there is a problem with the ticket i.e. if there is a technical problem in the machine, a pink ticket will be given. After that, the carbon copy of the pink ticket will be returned.
