Food and Civil Supplies department has announced the launch of online applications for the Ration Card for the year 2023 on ahara.kar.nic.in. Residents of Karnataka can now easily apply for a new ration card online and access the complete application process in a PDF format.

Karnataka State government offers ration cards to households that are eligible to purchase subsidised food grain from the Public Distribution System under the National Food Security Act. Issued by the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs department (ahara.kar.nic.in), it serves as identity proof.

Individuals who are not listed in the 2023 Karnataka Ration Card List can find information on the necessary documentation and procedures for applying for a new APL/BPL ration card in Karnataka. Additionally, applicants can track the status of their inclusion request for the Ration Card in Karnataka.

Karnataka Ration Card is a government-issued document that enables eligible families to purchase essential food grains at subsidised rates from fair price shops. The card comes in three categories – Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Priority Household (PHH), and Non-Priority Household (NPHH).

The card also serves as an identity and address proof, and confirms the domicile status of the individual. The process of applying for a ration card in Karnataka can be done both online and offline. The online application can be done through the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Department website, and the offline application can be done by visiting the nearest fair price shop or the food and civil supplies department office.

List of Documents Required for New Ration Card in Karnataka:

– Age proof

– Identity proof

– Address proof

– Passport size photographs

– Income proof

– Certificate from the Ward Councillor or Pradhan

– Tenancy agreement (if the applicant is a tenant)

Eligibility Criteria:

Priority Household (PHH) Ration Card – These ration cards are given to individuals who reside in the rural regions of the state.

Annapurna Yojna Ration Card – These are given to underprivileged state residents who are over 65 years old.

Antyodaya Anna Yojna Ration Card – These cards are offered to households or families with an annual income of less than Rs 15,000.

Non-Priority Household (NPHH) Ration Card – These cards are given to families with a consistent yearly income of above Rs 15,000.

Step to Apply Online for Karnataka Ration Card 2023:

– Step 1: You must first visit the government website at https://ahara.kar.nic.in/ to submit an application for a ration card. Check notifications

– Step 2: You have to select on ‘e-services’ on the home page

– Step 3: When you click, the ‘New Ration Card’ choice will appear; select it

– Step 4: After that, you must decide on the sort of your ration card

– Step 5: You will need to confirm the number on your Aadhar card after choosing

– Step 6: Your number will be confirmed once the OTP has been filled out

– Step 7: Next, you must select ‘Add’ to add the programme

– Step 8: The registration form will then be displayed in front of you

– Step 9: The form must be filled out completely before you can select ‘Save’

– Step 10: Keep the registration number on file for future use

– Step 11: Your ration card will be produced after those 15 days, and you can obtain one by paying ₹ 100.
