Permission for 9 Beef Stalls in Mangalore’s Nava Central Market, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Outraged

Mangalore: A plan has been made to open 9 beef stalls in the central market. Against this background Vishwa Hindu Parishad has expressed outrage against the Mangalore Metropolitan Corporation. The state BJP government has implemented the Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act. Allowed for 9 Beef Stalls in Mangalore’s Nava Central Market, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Outraged.

But now a plan has been taken to open a beef stall under the Mangalore Municipal Corporation which is ruled by the same BJP.A plan has been made to allow 9 beef stalls(Nava Central Market) to be opened in the central market which will be well-equipped by the Smart City Project. Against this background Vishwa Hindu Parishad has expressed outrage against the Mangalore Metropolitan Corporation.

A new central market is planned to be constructed at a cost of 114 crores and the blue map is ready to open 9 beef stalls on the lower ground floor of the new central market. In the 3D map of the market which is currently before the Smart City Board, the map has been prepared with reference to 9 beef stalls.

The new Central Market building will be constructed in 18 months. It is being built in a public-private partnership. After the construction of the building, the stalls were allotted by the Mangalore Corporation. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad is furious that the beef stall has been allowed in the proposed project. There has been outrage that a beef stall has been allowed along with vegetable and poultry shops.

Even after the Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, the BJP has allowed beef stalls in Kenda Mandal. Allowance for 9 beef stalls in DA district is not correct. The Corporation and the Smart City Board should abandon this project immediately. VHP Karnataka South Province Joint Secretary Sharan Pumpwell has warned that they will fight fiercely if they do not give up.
