Karnataka Heavy Rainfall: Yellow Alert declared for 8 districts

Due to the impact of weather changes in the Bay of Bengal, India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast Heavy rainfall will continue in Karnataka for the next five days. The depression created over the West Bay of Bengal weakened on Wednesday. On the other hand, a surface cyclone has formed which is blowing towards the coastal part of Andhra Pradesh. Another surface cyclone has formed in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal. It is about 5 km above sea level. Climate scientist Dr. Prasad said that it is high.

Due to these weather changes, there are signs of continued rains in Karnataka. According to the India Meteorological Department forecast, there will be scattered light rains in the coastal districts and inland districts for the next four days. There are signs of moderate rain with occasional thunder and lightning.

  • ‘Yellow Alert’ for 8 districts

There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall along with thunder on the fifth day October 10 in the northern hinterland and southern hinterland. For this reason ‘Yellow Alert’ warning has been issued for a total of 8 districts.

Kalaburgi, Koppal, Yadgiri, Raichur and Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Chitradurga, Tumkur are the districts which have received ‘yellow alert’ for one day. Apart from this, Bengaluru city and Bengaluru rural districts will receive normal rain for the next three days. He said that cold weather will increase in this part.

Subrahmanya in Dakshina Kannada district on the coast of the state received an excess of 7 cm in the last 24 hours as of 8.30 am on Wednesday. According to the India Meteorological department report, one centimeter of rain has fallen in Kodagu, Davangere and Shimavogga districts.
