Karnataka Heavy Rainfall alert in this weekend

India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the state has received 14% less rainfall so far this year during Monsoon. Similarly, moderate rainfall is expected in September. Weather department has forecast moderate rainfall over the state from September 1-7. Karnataka Heavy Rainfall alert in this weekend.

Officials said that 11% and 23% rainfall deficiency has been reported in coastal Karnataka and southern hinterland respectively. 57.3 cm of normal rainfall was expected from June to till date. But Karnataka has received 49.6 cm of rain during this period. It showed a deficit of 14 percent.

The India Meteorological Department has informed that 5 to 10 mm of rain is expected in the state from September 1 to 7. The Indian Meteorological Department has said moderate rain is likely in Bengaluru till Sunday, August 20. This forecast will be applicable for Bengaluru city and Bengaluru rural districts, the department said.

It will be generally cloudy. Light rain or thundershower is likely to occur in some parts of the city, the department said. According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Bengaluru will be between 31 and 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

Coastal Karnataka districts like Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts are likely to receive moderate rain till Sunday, the weather department said. The department has warned that there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in the northern interior including Bidar and Kalaburagi till Sunday.
