Karnataka Heavy rainfall alert for next 4 days, issued yellow alert in these 3 districts

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert on April 26 in three districts including Chikmagaluru, Kodagu and Chamarajanagar. Bengaluru is likely to experience light to moderate rain in the evening or night for the next four days till April 30, the Meteorological Department said. The IMD has alerted the local administrations of several districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru City, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Ramanagara and Mysuru. Light to moderate thundershowers with lightning and strong winds at 30-40 kmph have been warned over these areas.

Meanwhile, considering the soaring temperature levels across Karnataka, the state health department issued an advisory urging people to avoid public functions between 11 am and 4 pm. The advisory was issued to “avoid any kind of heat stroke incident”.

According to the notification, adequate drinking water facilities and good ventilation should be provided when public functions are conducted. The showers are expected to bring down the high-temperature levels the city has been experiencing in the past few days.

The maximum temperature in the city is likely to settle at around 33 degrees celsius while the minimum mercury level will be at around 22 degrees celsius on Wednesday and the following 3-4 days.
