Several districts in Karnataka have been hit by heavy rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that Bengaluru is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall till June 3. Karnataka Heavy Rainfall alert for next 3 days.

After hours of torrential rainfall that lashed Bengaluru city on Tuesday, several arterial roads were flooded and many underpasses were submerged. Complaints of tree falls were reported in several areas and there were reports of power outages due to heavy rain in the city.

Kerala is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall for the next four days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

In its bulletin issued on Wednesday, the IMD heavy rain spells are likely to occur and a yellow alert has been issued for Idukki and Pathanamthitta districts on June 1 and June 2. A yellow warning has been sounded for four Kerala districts on June 3 and seven districts on June 4.

Pre-monsoon rain spells lashed the southern districts of the state till the monsoon arrives. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has directed officials to be vigilant about the precautionary works ahead of the monsoon. “The southwest monsoon has advanced into some parts of the Southwest Bay of Bengal.
