The Government of Karnataka has issued a notification officially announcing the holidays of the government employees for the next year 2023. Karnataka Government Releases Official Holidays 2023: Here’s Complete Details.

This holiday list includes Uttarayana Punyakala, Makara Sankranti (15.01.2023), Basava Jayanti/Akshya Tritiya (23.04.2023) and Naraka Chaturdashi (12.11.2023) on Sundays and Mahalaya Amavasya on second Saturday (14.10.2023) and Khuthub on fourth Saturday.

Ramzan (22.04.2023) and Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti. (28.10.2023) is not included in this holiday list. Date: 01.04.2023 is the annual closing day of commercial banks and co-operative banks, only commercial and co-operative banks will have a holiday on the said day.

The Commissioner of Public Education will announce the list of separate holidays in respect of the Education Department.  In addition to the general holidays, the State Government employees may avail the limited leave mentioned in Annexure to Notification-1 in the year 2023 not exceeding two days with prior permission.

The present permission shall be sanctioned by the authorities competent to grant casual leave. As New Year (01.01.2023), Deva Dasimaiya Jayanti (26.03.2023), Vishwa Karma Jayanti (17.09.2023) and Christmas Eve (24.12.2023) fall on Sundays, and Holy Smatter Day (08.04.2023) falls on second Saturday, this holiday not listed.

Sauramana Ugadi (14.04.2023) Friday Dr B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti, Swarnagouri Vrat (18.09.2023) Monday, Varasidhi Vinayaka Vrat and Ananta Padmanabha Vrat (28.09.2023) Thursday fall on public holidays declared on the occasion of Eid-Milad, so these holidays are not included in the list.
