Copies of the caste census reports were brought to Vidhana Soudha in two huge bundles, which were handed over to CM Siddaramaiah by Karnataka Backward Classes Commission Chairman Jayaprakash Hegde.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has received the Karnataka Census Report (Social and Educational Survey 2015 Data Study Report 2024), which has been creating a stir for the past 9 years.

Copies of the caste census reports were brought to Vidhana Soudha in two huge bundles, which were handed over to CM Siddaramaiah by Karnataka Backward Classes Commission Chairman Jayaprakash Hegde.

What is in the Caste Census Report?

A total of 13 copies have been prepared in the caste census report submitted by Jayaprakash Hegde, chairman of the Commission for Backward Classes. All copies are also large volumes. Some volumes are divided into two-three parts. The report also includes a survey of the educational and social status of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and All Classes.

3) Salient Features of Castes / Classes (excluding Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) 8 volumes

5) Salient Features of Caste Classes (Scheduled Tribes) – 1 Vol

6) Caste wise statistics of assembly constituencies (02 CDs)

7) Study Report on Data from Social and Educational Survey 2015- 2024

Report preparation cost approximately Rs 154 crore. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accepted the report despite the opposition of Congress and BJP leaders.

Thus, from 2013 to 2018, when Siddaramaiah was the CM for the first time, social and educational survey i.e. caste census was conducted. But due to various reasons, the government did not receive the report. In the meantime, the report was leaked and made a huge noise. Now the Congress government has come to power again in the state and Siddaramaiah is once again the CM. CM Siddaramaiah often said that he would accept the caste census report after coming to power.
