Rested for the 4th Test in Ranchi, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all set to spread his magic in Dharamshala. He was replaced by Akash Deep in the Ranchi Test, who had a dream debut on day one, taking three giant wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, who has been released from the team for the 4th Test to be held in Ranchi, will join the team in Dharamshala for the 5th Test, BCCI said in a release.

Indian cricketers, who are on break after beating England to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the fourth Test in Ranchi, will assemble in Chandigarh on Saturday and leave for Dharamshala on a chartered flight the same evening or the next day.

And Rajat Patidar arrived. The Madhya Pradesh cricketers made their debut in the second Test at Vizag and gave their best account by scoring a fluent 32 runs in the first innings. But since then, instead of taking off, Patidar’s Test career has languished on the runway. Scores of 9, 5, 0, 17 and 0 in the next five innings made the selectors rethink their decision.

Even a few innocuous dismissals against the spinners didn’t help their cause. With Madhya Pradesh’s Ranji Trophy semi-final against Vidarbha scheduled for Saturday, the selectors wanted to release the 30-year-old from the Test squad so that he could return to domestic cricket and regain his mojo.
