This month, banks will be closed for an additional eight days and the usual weekend breaks will be extended to the second and fourth Saturdays in addition to Sundays, taking the number of holidays to 14.
Notably, holiday observance differs across the country, with some days recognized as public holidays nationwide while others are specific to specific regions. Chapchar Kut on March 1, Mahashivaratri on March 8, Holi on March 25 and Good Friday on March 29 mark national holidays.
In Bihar, state-specific holidays include Bihar Divas on March 22 and Yosang Second Day/Holi on March 26 and 27. Regular bank closures occur on the second Saturday (March 9), fourth Saturday (March 23) and all Sundays throughout March. However, online banking services will be available nationwide despite this closure.

Although regular bank branches are closed on these particular days, online banking services and ATMs function smoothly.
