Karnataka Assembly Election: In Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023, people with disabilities and those above 80 years of age will be allowed to vote from home, said Rajiv Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner of the Central Election Commission announced on Saturday. Addressing a press conference at Vikas Soudha, he said that there are 12.15 lakh voters above 80 years of age in the state. For the first time, over 80 years, 5.55 lakh PWD voters are being allowed to vote from home. There are a total of 5,21,73,579 voters in the state. There are 2,62,42,561 male voters and 2,59,26,319 female voters.

There are 12,15,763 people above 80 years (Karnataka Assembly Election). There are 16,976 voters above 100 years. 9,17,241 people will vote for the first time. There are 4,699 third gender voters. He informed that 1,25,406 persons above 17 years have applied. It is believed that polling will be peaceful in Karnataka too.

Voters should not succumb to money and other lures. Department is kept to prevent electoral malpractice. Border areas, coastal areas will be monitored more. Steps are being taken to curb illegal trade. He informed that strict action will be taken against election irregularities.

There will be a total of 58,282 polling booths in the state (Karnataka Assembly Election). 883 people can vote in one polling booth. He informed that there will be 24,063 polling stations in urban areas and 34,219 in rural areas. All the polling booths will be provided with basic facilities. He also informed that wheelchairs will be arranged for the disabled who come to the polling booth and vote.
