IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert in Karnataka: Red Alert issued

The southern states of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu are very likely to witness rain spells during the next five days. The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala during the next 5 days. IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert in Karnataka: Issued Red alert.

South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are likely to witness heavy rain spells from July 3 to July 5; Telangana on July 4 and 5. “Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu during 03rd-05th July,” stated IMD

In Karnataka Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Kodagu, Hassan, Bellary, Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, Davangere, Mandya, Mysuru, Tumkur, Vijayanagar, Bagalkote, Belgavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgiri have normal or above normal rainfall during this month June 4, there will be heavy rains across the state for the next one week.

India Meteorological Department has announced orange alert as there is a possibility of heavy rain in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada from June 4 to June 6. Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Shivamogga will receive heavy rainfall on June 6 and red alert has been issued by the department. Before that, orange alert was given in these districts on June 4 and June 5. Some districts of North Karnataka will receive good rains.
