Rainfall alert in Karnataka: The Department of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that rainfall over the state will continue for three days from today. IMD issued heavy rainfall alert in Karnataka for next 3 days. The rains have been continued from the past 3 weeks in Bengaluru. The state capital has surpassed its 50-year record with rainfall and cold.

IMD issued heavy rainfall alert across the state from Tuesday to May 17. Monsoon is likely to enter Kerala by May 27. Monsoon will enter Mangaluru in four days. Cyclone Asani has weak, but it is still raining in Karnataka. Thundershowers are likely to occur in coastal Karnataka and southern areas.

Heavy Rainfall are expected in Bengaluru, Hassan, Chikkmagaluru, Shivamoga, Uttara Kannada, Kodagu, Tumkuru, Ramanagara, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Kolar and Chikkaballapura. In some other districts, there will be cloudy and stormy weather. Thunderstorms in Karnataka’s northern parts will continue for 3 days.

Heavy rainfall are expected in coastal Karnataka for the next 3 days. There will also be frequent thunderstorms. This is the 2nd year of the coldest temperatures in the last 50 years in Bengauru. Thundershowers are expected in some parts of southern Karnataka today.

The monsoon season usually arrives in Kerala around June 1. It will cover the rest of India by mid-June. However, this time the southwestern monsoon of Kerala will arrive on May 27. The Southwest Monsoon is likely to start in Kerala this year, ahead of the normal start date. The monsoon is likely to start in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands by May 15, the weather department said.

Not only in Karnataka but also Assam and Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim and Kerala are expected to receive rain today. Heavy rains are expected in Mahe, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and parts of Karaikal.

Thunderstorms are likely to be widespread in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Rain or snow is likely in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Thundershowers are likely in West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In some places like Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, maximum temperatures are likely to exceed 45C. More than 40C is expected in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana. The heat wave is expected to rise in Rajasthan, Jammu Division, Vidarbha, South Punjab and South Haryana and Delhi.
